30.03.08

Not my best photograph today, more of a quick snapshot. We've been decorating the room that's going to be our office. Soon I'll be able to move all my equipment in here so we can eat at the dining table again.

Selfridges is one of my favourite places. I went there today to show Stu the £20,000 Jelly Bean Bull. Selfridges sells lots of my favourite things, Cath Kidston, Allessi, Villeroy Boch, Vomme Fasse, Kurt Geiger, Paperchase, Chanel and most importantly, Krispy Kreme Donuts. I don't need to have any money to enjoy an hour spent here.

20 March 2008, Day 1

Day 1: The contents of my handbag.

I wanted to create an introductory image for the project and thought the essentials I rarely leave home without would give the viewer an interesting insight.

Introducing...

Hi,

My name is Louisa Griffiths and I like to remember everything. I have previously kept scrapbooks to record my life but this year I'm taking my obsession one step further with a photography project called 'This 25th Year'. Starting on my birthday, 20th March, I am going to take a photograph every day that I'm 25. The photograph could be of anything, all it has to do is represent my day. By my 26th birthday I'll have 365 images summing up this 25th year.

There are some other reasons I want to do this project. I'm a photographer and I think doing this will help me think more about composition, force me to always remember to charge my camera and help me to experiment with different equipment. In the past 12 months I have moved all over the country, met loads of new people and done lots of new things. I figure if being 25 is as exciting as being 24 I'll have a lot of really interesting images at the end of the project.
