I took some blurred but great photographs of the Guides jumping over hurdles this evening. Unfortunately I can't really publish them online so instead we have the above. I had to take the photo just as they started their run up to catch them mid air. I pushed the button too late on this one.
Asda Glow Stick, 68p. I took this to compare the results with the earlier photograph of a sparkler. I think sparklers not glow sticks for the Guide photographs.
So they may not have the best reputation for being ethical, but at least their bags are recycled... Did Sunday battle with other shoppers in Primark.
I was heading towards a flower I wanted to photograph and very nearly walked straight into this web.
This months girls night was all about the hair.
Comms 4 all had the same thought this morning - sugar. There was Krispy Kreme donuts, retro sweets and mint matchmakers. The afternoon sugar come down was painful.
Decisions, decisions... Choosing photographs for a portfolio review at Rhubarb Rhubarb. I've never shown anyone other than friends or lecturers my portfolio before, I have no idea what to expect.
Today the Guides were attempting to massage each others hands. This of course led to me having my elbows to my fingertips massaged by six Guides (at the same time). They were very good but do need to learn the 'less is more' rule. As I type I can barely breathe for the smell of perfumed lotion.
Happy Birthday Stuart!
My favourite part of the weekend, at the Camera Obscura. The hands on exhibits were fantastic.
A bust in Edinburgh Castle.
An advert painted on a wall in a derelict part of Edinburgh.
Test shot for a November photo I'm taking for a Guide calender. I doubt that a gang of Guides, Brownies and Rainbows will keep as still as Stuart.
Off out showing the family our new car.I've been having cracking headaches all week as I get used to my new glasses. Taking photographs and blogging has been the last thing I've wanted to do, I keep reminding myself that I've come this far and I'm nearly half way there but tonight I have no enthusiasm, hence the lazy photo.
Picked up some Teen magazines for a problem page activity I'm doing with the Guides tonight. Reading them reminded me just how crap being a teenager is. Perhaps that's why the magazines had such good freebies attached, to cheer their readers up a bit.
We picked up our new car today. Can't drive it of course, but the garage gave me some flowers so that I wouldn't feel left out.
Stu introduced me to Cheshire Oaks today. A dangerous place for a girl who loves to shop. Not all of these tags are mine...
After falling asleep in front of Chinese cookery shows there was no choice but order a massive takeaway.
A photographers dream, an exhibition where you are encouraged to take photographs!
I went to the opening Of all the people in all the world with the comms 4 this evening. I couldn't choose which image from the show to use, so I went with a picture of their signage instead. www.stanscafe.co.uk
I'm trying to get some colour in my wardrobe. This little hoody should help.
Tidy Room. Wait till tomorrow.
My new ghd straighteners arrived just in time to tame my rain curled hair before Guides.
This may not be an exciting photo now, but in another 25 years these will probably look really kitsch.
My first blue box. I collected my new glasses today. Hopefully one day I'll make it to New York and get another blue box with jewellry in it.
It's no secret that I can be flakey, but today I surpassed myself. Went out for a days shopping in Birmingham and took the wrong card. All I had was this bit of change. Gutted.
We went to see my Moms new house and were very impressed with the fruit trees in the garden.
Travis at The Quarry in Shrewsbury. Fantastic set, despite the pouring rain.
The photo below is one Stu took, he got the whole band in shot. I like it much better than my photo for today so thought I would share it with you.
Birthday Girl. 8 years old and already owns an ipod!
I need to learn how to take photos indoors, they always end up so fuzzy.
As Comms 4 has just been 2 of us for a week, we decided to reward our hard work with posh burgers in the Mailbox. I had an enormous chocolate milkshake too.
Every table has a tomato shaped ketchup bottle, not something you'd expect to see in a Mailbox restaurant.
Bad weather dominated the day again. There was a little ray of sunshine in the evening - we booked the ultimate Orlando holiday. It's not until December but I'm already excited.
Everyone at work had the Monday blues. The rain didn't help either. Soggy pumps again.
'If only I got a pound every time you said you needed to buy some decent trainers...'
