Thank you for all the lovely comments about my blog. It's great to know that people have been following my 25th Year project. If you're missing the daily photo please take a look at my latest blogging adventure, Ladies Who. Expect lots of girlie Britishness from myself and the rest of Comms 4!I really should put some thank you's on here for all the people who helped with my 25th Year blog. So thank you to -My long suffering boyfriend, Stu, for being patient and pulling the car over for me to take picsMy Mom and Sheila for motherly supportLisa, Dyl, Bethan and Tom for featuring in so many of my postsSilversongbird, Where is Marc, Mattie, J and many others for following and commentingComms 4 for support and suggestionsThe Guides for giving me plenty of subject matterI hope I haven't forgotten anyone! This blog has been hard work, at times thoroughly enjoyable, at other times a burden. I think if you look at the photos from the beginning I have acheived what I set out to do. My images have improved, I see potential subect matter everywhere and usually have my camera at the bottom of my handbag. I also have a very thorough diary of my year, to help me remember everything.
The same but different. It's my 26th Birthday tomorrow so this is my last photograph for the project. I decided to replicate my first photograph as I thought it would be a good way to illustrate what's changed this year. The house keys are for different houses to the keys in the original photo, the train pass is for a different city, the battery is for a newer camera. I still carry a glasses case but I actually wear the glasses now. The provisional driving license and the business cards are new editions to my bag, as are newspaper cuttings and fliers which I accumulate at work.I'm sure there will be other posts on the blog, I want to post an evaluation of the project and also a thank you list for all the people who have helped me complete it. But for now, I'm going to enjoy going out without having to take a picture...
Possibly the nicest birthday card I've ever had, plus a fantastic collection of bits and bobs from Claire's Accessories. Oh and homemade birthday muffins too. It's not even my birthday yet!
This gingerbread man really made me smile. I was very impressed that one of the Guides had thought to use the hundreds and thousands to make eyelashes.
Cube - round the corner from the office.
The building on the left, which they have just started cladding, was a huge hole when I started this blog.
More fun with Tom, Beth and Lisa today.
Tom spent the morning using 'the force' on me.
I had one of those 'I love this city. I love my life' moments as I was taking this picture. Love it when that happens.
Imagine the chicks are ideas, this is what my brain is like today. Whether I do anything with the chicks or the ideas is yet to be seen!
March DaffodilsMy boss bought me some daffodils yesterday to help with the office blues (it worked). You know it's nearly my birthday when bursts of yellow start popping up everywhere.
A walk to wind down after Guides led to some creepy photos at the back of St Nic's.
Monday blues. Blue clothes, blue jewelery and a blue mood all round the office.
I thought I'd photograph Grandpa's barometer which Stu put up today. Grandpa would be so pleased I've finally got round to learning to drive.
Girls night.
Becky's engagement ring looks huge in this photo. We've hit that age now - weddings, mortgages and children are three of our main topics of conversation.
Ladies who.Another glamorous lunch hour courtesy of Claire.
Shiny new 'smart' shoes.
I was skulking around Mom's looking for evidence of Avril's visit for today's photograph. Then I saw this. I like to think it represents the topics of conversation Mom and Avril have had during her visit.
Westminster Cathedral Another day in London for work. I wonder if the people working at National Office appreciate the views of Westminster right on their doorstep.
Not the Cutty Sark.
Today I had to get the Docklands Light Railway to Cutty Sark station for a work event. Unfortunately since it caught fire the famous ship isn't actually there anymore so instead I stood on a wobbly bridge and photographed the Francesca Prior instead.
These moss covered gems used to look very different outside my childhood home. I think I prefer them like this.
The Amazing Bovarian Stompers.
The evening entertainment at Kate and Duncan's Saturday party was very funny.
No time for blogging tonight, too busy editing the 944 photos I took at Kate & Duncan's wedding yesterday. So far I have culled almost 500 pictures, now I'm on to cropping...
Mrs Kate Branchett.
Books and bows, films and Funny Girl. We covered many topics in our High Fidelity conversation in comms today.
Shrove Tuesday!
I might have been willing to share my chocolate spread with the Guides, but they weren't getting their hands on my Absolutely Pure Maple Syrup.
Mmm nutella. A Guiding staple. We had a last minute dash getting chocolate spread and pancakes for the Guides. I had to leave the seal on the jar, if I open it they'll be none left for the girls tomorrow.
Mostly I hate learning to drive, but today I almost enjoyed it. I'll be joining the Stig on Top Gear in no time.
Bits of wool cluttering up my study.
Stress down day at work today so we were all supposed to come in our slippers.
I was just photographing my feet for the blog as Rachel came over to see what I was doing.
Finally got that bloody newsletter done so rewarded myself with a cupcake.
Note to self, don't read murder mystery novels when traveling alone late at night.
Got home from work to find a biker working in the garage.
Claire buys the best presents, this brooch at Christmas and today my favourite chocolate brownies from Borough.
We put out more food for the garden wildlife today and in return the Robin did a photo session for me.
It's not just me with random collections of old stuff on top shelves, my Mom does it too.
I am very excited that the custom vinyl for my laptop came today. I'm already thinking of all the other things I can customise around the house, the fridge, the wardrobe...
The sticker is from an independent retailer called SaySaySay - www.saysaysay.etsy.com
When I saw Comic Relief were selling Morecambe and Wise T-shirts for Red Nose Day I couldn't resist. The original photo is by David Bailey, which in my eyes makes it extra cool, no matter what my colleagues will think of it at work tomorrow!
Finishing touches to the Roman costume.
Church hall, spray glue, bad plan. Today we finally did the bag customising activity I've been planning.
Asda mission for this week - ingredients for a curry.
How many Deer can you see in this picture? Not the best photo but it's not often you come across quite so many Deer in one spot.
January was origami, February is all about textiles. Last night I made Pom-poms and tonight we're making Beth's Roman costume.
Reminds me a bit of the London Eye.
Footprints.
Rainbow.
Don't be fooled by the pink fluff, Rainbow is a bruiser. As you can see he has a scar on his wing and his beak is flattened, much like a broken nose. Raised in a Zodiac toy shop, he came to live with me in 1989. Rainbow was briefly married to Paint-a-picture Barbie in the early nineties and he currently works as a bodyguard.
This is just around the corner from my house. I love the image of a silhouette of a bare tree against a blue sky. It's a shame there are pylons in the background, but I can consider this a practice shot for when I see a tree with a clear background.
To make sure we all got home safely the office closed early, which meant I was home in time to make snowmen with Amy next door.
This photo made me think of a song my Gran used to sing to Janis and I. I'm not sure if 'Let's make a snowman' was a real song or whether she just made it up to entertain us.
When it starts to bubble all across the pancake then it's time to flip them over. It's becoming a bit of a tradition in our house that when someone stops the night, Stu makes pancakes. Great way to start a Sunday.
I love dresses and Kate's hen do tonight is the perfect excuse to wear a dress completely covered in sequins. It's freezing and, unlike many of my friends, I don't do the 'beer coat' - so there will be t-shirts and leggings underneath and a couple of layers on top!
My new, very patriotic, handbag. I've had my eye on a more expensive, less practical, sequined version for a while now, so when I saw this I couldn't resist!
An ache that started in my shoulder a few days ago seems to have worked it's way down my arm to form a sharp pain in my right wrist - I'm right handed. Could be a slow day at work tomorrow if it doesn't ease up.
